How to use it
- Type your restaurant name, address, phone, GSTIN and FSSAI number once. They stay saved on this device.
- Choose KOT, type the table and covers, and add the dishes with quantity and any note for the kitchen (for example "less spicy"). Print it for the kitchen.
- When the guest asks for the bill, switch Document to Bill. Add rates if you have not, and any discount or packing charge.
- Pick the GST rate that applies to you. Add a service charge only if your policy has one; the bill marks it as voluntary.
- Check the totals, choose the payment mode and press Print / PDF, or download Excel or Word.
Tips
- On a phone, use Print › Save as PDF and share the bill on WhatsApp.
- A 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printer prints the page scaled down; for crisp thermal bills keep the item names short.
- Use "New bill (keep my details)" for the next table; the bill number moves to the next one by itself.
Questions and answers
Which GST rate should a restaurant charge?
Most standalone restaurants, dhabas, cafés and cloud kitchens charge 5 percent GST without input tax credit. Restaurants inside hotels where a room is charged above ₹7,500 a night charge 18 percent with input tax credit. Businesses under the composition scheme or without GST registration cannot charge GST. Confirm your case with your tax adviser.
Is service charge compulsory?
No. Under the Central Consumer Protection Authority guidelines of July 2022, a restaurant cannot add a service charge automatically or by default, and a guest can ask for it to be removed. This tool leaves it at 0 and labels it as voluntary when you add one. GST applies on a service charge that is collected.
Why is the FSSAI number on the bill?
FSSAI requires food businesses to show their FSSAI licence or registration number on bills and cash memos.
Is my data stored online?
No. The bill is made in your browser; only your restaurant details and the last bill number are remembered on this device.
