Wedding & Event Planning Checklist (Excel)
Type your event date and every task gets a real due date: book the venue a year ahead, send save-the-dates at six months, confirm numbers with the caterer the week before. The list covers Indian wedding customs (muhurat, mehndi, sangeet, haldi, shagun envelopes) and general event planning alike, and you can add or delete tasks freely. Overdue tasks turn red and the Progress sheet shows how much is done in each period.

How to use it
- On the Settings sheet type the event date and pick the date style.
- Read the Checklist sheet once and set the status of tasks that do not apply to Not needed.
- Type an owner for each task: who in the family or team will do it.
- Add your own tasks in the empty rows at the bottom: pick the period, and the due date fills in.
- Update the status as you go; check the overdue (red) tasks every week.
- Open the Progress sheet to see how far you are and which period needs attention.
Tips
- If your event is less than a year away, do the tasks from the earlier periods first: their due dates will already show as overdue.
- Share the file on OneDrive or Google Drive so each owner updates their own tasks.
- For a destination wedding, move travel and stay tasks one period earlier: flights and rooms fill up fast.
Questions and answers
Can I change a task's due date?
Yes. The Due date column is yellow: type any date over the formula. To bring the formula back, copy the cell from the row above.
Our wedding is in three months. Is it still useful?
Yes. Everything due before today shows as overdue; work through those first, and mark what you have already done as Done.
Does it include Indian functions?
It includes tasks for engagement or roka, mehndi, sangeet, haldi, the wedding ceremony and reception. Mark any you are not holding as Not needed.
